"Excellent in every respect...."

I was at
the Alzer from the 19 to 23 February 2005. Everything was perfect
except for the extensive renovations being done which, they did not
mention to me before my arrival. The lobby, the terrace, the
bar/dining room and most rooms were being renovated. The top floor
breakfast room with spectacular views was fully operational .

The Alzer
took us in at midnight without any problems, serving food and drink
when we needed it. The prospect of the Hippodrome and Blue Mosque
was our first delight, as we sat sipping Efes beer. The location is
perfect, within easy walking distance of almost every major
attraction.
Our room was comfortable and well kept, the service was uniformly
excellent and the meze was the best we found in Turkey. Our bus
collected us on time and without difficulty when we left.
Don't go past the Alzer if you want a comfortable, well situated,
traditional hotel in Istanbul. We are going there again next year
